In this particular position, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and developing the future of specific TradeTracker related software products. You would be a core member of the Development team with responsibilities that range from driving the architecture design and technology decisions for shaping the next generation products, to ensuring that TradeTracker stays on the leading edge of technology. You will operate within our Development department and be part of the Architects Team. Working alongside a team of developers and specialists, the team will bring together high-end development with creative minds to perform better, faster, and more effective software to outperform the competition each and every day.

Salary: Up to €100,000 (or about AED 400,000) per annum plus 15% OTE, commensurate with skills and experience. The top end of the range is reserved for those with exceptional qualifications and experience.

Location: Dubai, UAE / Almere, NL (relocation possible)

Required skillset:

PHP mastery: You are an expert in PHP, with 8+ years of extensive experience in developing complex, high-performance web applications. You possess deep knowledge of modern PHP frameworks whilst valuing Zend / MVC principles and have a proven track record of architecting and scaling PHP-based systems. Your understanding of PHP’s internal workings, including memory management, performance tuning, and security practices, sets you apart as a true PHP god.

PHP upgrades and legacy code management: You have substantial experience with PHP upgrades, ensuring seamless transitions between versions while maintaining backward compatibility. You are adept at refactoring legacy code to modern standards, optimizing it for performance and scalability without disrupting ongoing operations.

Advanced PHP techniques: Your expertise extends to advanced PHP concepts such as dependency injection, service containers, and design patterns like MVC, Singleton, and Observer. You are capable of implementing complex business logic and value object-oriented programming.

PHP Ecosystem Mastery: You are well-versed in the broader PHP ecosystem, including Composer for dependency management and PHPUnit for testing or Packagist for management. You know how to leverage these tools to maintain code quality and consistency across large projects.

High-availability and performant code: You have experience in optimizing PHP applications for high traffic and large-scale operations. This includes implementing caching strategies (e.g., Redis, Memcached), asynchronous processing, and load balancing. You understand how to profile and optimize PHP code to achieve minimal latency and maximal throughput.

API development: You have extensive experience designing and implementing RESTful and GraphQL APIs in PHP. You understand how to secure APIs, manage versioning, and ensure high availability and performance.

Security expertise: You have a strong understanding of PHP security best practices, including protection against SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, and other common vulnerabilities. You know how to implement robust authentication and authorization mechanisms and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.

Apply architectural best practices: We value architectural excellence. You should be skilled in applying best practices to ensure the scalability, reliability, and maintainability of our software. Your ability to architect and design systems that are both robust and flexible is essential. New team members should be able to hit the ground running.

Domain-driven design: Familiarity with DDD principles is highly beneficial, as our platform deals with complex domain models. You should be comfortable with translating business requirements into technical solutions that accurately reflect the domain.

Relational databases: Geographically distributed database design and expert PostgreSQL knowledge are crucial for data management and performance optimization. You should be adept at designing and managing databases that can scale and perform under heavy load.

Cloud-native development: You are proficient in developing software that adopts modern data architectures and cloud-native technologies, primarily within AWS environments. Your experience should include leveraging AWS services to build scalable, resilient, and cost-effective solutions.

Docker and containerization: We use Docker extensively for containerization. Experience with Docker and container orchestration is required. You should be comfortable with deploying and managing containerized applications at scale.

DevOps experience: While not a primary requirement, basic DevOps experience will be valuable as it allows you to participate in the end-to-end development and deployment process. Your understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code (IaC) will be a plus.

Industry expertise: Experience in the advertising and marketing technology industry is highly desirable. Understanding the specific challenges and opportunities in this sector will allow you to contribute more effectively to our projects.
