India Space Congress 2026: Paving the Path to a $44 Billion Space Economy

Next week, Delhi will become the epicenter of significant discussions about the future of space exploration, as global space leaders converge for the India Space Congress (ISC) 2026. Scheduled from June 15 to June 17, this event aims to set the course for India's space ambitions, targeting the development of a $44 billion space economy by 2033.
The India Space Congress is organized by the Satcom Industry Association (SIA)-India and will host over 600 participants from more than 25 countries. These participants include policymakers, diplomats, industry leaders, and strategic stakeholders who will engage in over 60 sessions, workshops, and strategic dialogues. The Congress takes place at a pivotal moment as the global space economy approaches the trillion-dollar mark, emphasizing the importance of India's strategic growth in this sector.
The theme 'Reimagining Space, Reinventing Collaboration, Realising the Next Era of Space' encapsulates the event's focus on innovative technologies and policies. Discussions will address key areas such as satellite communications, Earth observation, space sustainability, and international cooperation. According to Dr. Subba Rao Pavuluri, President of SIA India, the ISC aims not only to discuss technological advancements but also to lay the groundwork for a competitive space economy capable of attracting investments and creating sustainable markets. By fostering collaboration between industry and academia, and ensuring access to growth capital, India is poised to become a formidable player in the global space industry.
